As a fraternity dedicated to the service of the Ann Arbor community, the brothers of Delta Upsilon present: Shelter the Homeless.
Shelter the Homeless is a brotherhood movement in coordination with the Washtenaw County Shelter Association. Our goal is to raise $5,000 by May 4th, 2014. In Washtenaw County, 42,000 people live at or near the poverty level. The proceeds we raise will offer those experiencing homelessness with a wide array of services, in one central location, all year long.
The Shelter Association offers those experiencing homelessness a wide array of services, in one central location, all year long.
More than 30 community organizations partner with the Shelter Association to help make these services available.
The Shelter Association is recognized as an organization which best meets the needs of adults experiencing homelessness in Washtenaw County.
In Washtenaw County, 42,000 people live at or near the poverty level.
Of those living in poverty, 10% or 4,200 men, women and children experience homelessness each year.
The Shelter Association serves between 1,200 and 1,500 adults experiencing homelessness each year. This is nearly half of those experiencing homelessness in Washtenaw County.
The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County is “Not Just A Shelter”. Our programs and services help individuals to find employment and affordable housing.
The Shelter Association is housed at the Robert J. Delonis center on the edge of downtown Ann Arbor and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
100% of the contributions will go directly to the Ann Arbor shelter!
