Hey Chaarg Girls!
Come and support Students Ending Slavery at the University of Maryland, a student organization devoted to mobilizing the community to combat modern-day slavery, at the Glow For The Girls 5K Run. There will be music, glow sticks, and fun! Plus, there will be a bunch of awesome organizations there to discuss human trafficking and how we can fight it! Its on April 3rd, 2015 at the McKeldin Sundail. Last minute registration and check-in will begin at 8:00 pm and the run will begin at 8:30 pm.
All proceeds will go to FAIR Girls, a local anti-trafficking non-profit in D.C.. FAIR Girls provides services to survivors of sex trafficking including crisis intervention, leadership development, and job skills training. FAIR Girls also has prevention and policy advocacy programs. We are SO excited for the VIDA center, which is a new housing program for survivors. Check out fairgirls.org for more information. The goal of the Glow For The Girls Run is to be a light in the darkness for the women that FAIR Girls serves and so many others who are still being exploited.
Registration to run is $15.00. Last minute registration and check-in is at 8:00 pm at the McKeldin Sundial. The run will start at 8:30 pm.
